Thanks, Del. Yes that's the one. After John Boyce's death, Jessie married Thomas Stirrat Blackwood and four more children were born.

Is that Thomas Stirrat Blackwood 1869 grandparents Thomas Stirrat 1808 and Isabella Scott 1816. Have him married to a Mary ? c1872 Ardrossan ,then Jessie McCracken.Goes back to Robert Scott c1717 in Stanley and Janet Wright c1717 in Ardrossan.

Hi Sweet Caroline, Yes I'm pretty sure that's Samuel's mother, unfortunatly no census records for Co. Down survive for the years that would tell me more.I thought it would be easier to go forward rather than back, how wrong can you be!! Thanks, Regards Del.
