I agree with independence from the UK - but if independence means joining the EU then I'd rather have Scotland part of the UK.

The UK will end up on its bended knees begging to be allowed to join the Euro-zone.

When Maggie said no, we could have joined at more than 4 pounds to the Euro. We're about 1.2 now.

The Euro is here to stay and if you think that in the long run sterling will be able to compete with the Euro, the Dollar, the Yen and the Yaun and the Brazilian Peso, (I think), then you are seriously misguided.

Get used to the idea.

I think the EU is crumbling as well as the UK.

Also, despite wanting Independence, I don't really want to be a member of the EU. Alex Salmond said there would be a vote on it after Independence. There again, depends which government we have after Independence in our first election and their policies.

Yes, it is an opinion John as is yours and could ask you the same question as Morag says. The EU is not the same as it was when the UK first joined.

More countries have joined since then, which is good in a way but it also brings it's difficulties/troubles/debts.

It's people's opinions brought together that makes changes, there are many around the internet feel the same about the EU and I'm sure if the UK gave us a vote to opt out, it would be a 'Yes'. But they won't do that as the UK has had many rebates from the EU and would have to pay that back, I believe.
