Does anyone have either of these people in their tree?? or any info regarding them please. Christina I think was born around 1847 and lived in Stevenston. She may have married a James Murdoch at some stage also??

I could NOT find any marriage to a Christina. However I did find the following.

I Can't seem to find DAVID or Elizabeth Murray in the 1891 and 1901 Census.
No mention of Christina Murray in the 1901 Census.

Well here I am down the track a wee bit with my research.
I have managed to determine that Christina Murray, 1846 - 1901daughter of Duncan Murray and Ann Frew, married a Samuel Murdoch 31st Dec 1866. She has been listed as McMurdo, Murdoch and McMurtrie on various documents. Christina later married William McClellan.

I am now trying to determine more about her first husband, Samuel Murdoch, I know his parents were Isabella Dickson and David Murdoch as per Samuel and Christinas marriage certificate. I can't find anything further on him, no listing on Scotlands people of his birth, nothing further on a census, and no death certificate that seems to match. When I look up the marriage of Isabella Dickson and a David Murdoch the only match I get is a marriage which took place in 1898 and David is listed as being 28yrs old, so can't possibly be the ones I want. Quite bizarre that two people with the same names as the ones I am looking for get married??

I would appreciate if anyone has anything on these Murdochs or Isabella Dickson

I have Murdoch's in my Seggie Paternal line.Don't know if connected.

David Murdoch b-1848 Wishaw.WifeJane ? b- 1845 Dalziel Had following children -
Margaret b-1874:Alexander b-1877 : William b-1879 and Christina b-1880 all in Wishaw.

Christina married James Seggie[brother of my Grandmother Rachel]
on 19 Jan 1906 bath Hotel Glasgow Christina died 1959 Saltcoats James 1964 Kilwinning they had 5 children.

I also have Murray's married into my Stewart side- Elizabeth Hyde Murray b- 1924 Ardrossan .

sheenaj,Yes i checked that marriage out as James was marrying a Christina Murray.Funny Christina Murray when married ended up Wishaw way,New Monklands .A tree on Ancestry has him born in Sorn,no Bapts. found there on the IGI for him.The tree does have his parents ,but nothing else.

She married William McLellan in 5th May 1897, she was 53yrs old and a field worker, listed as a widow, living in Townhead St Stevenston, he was also 53 yrs old and living at 58 Ardeer Square. the witnesses listed were Charles McLellan and Mary Steele.

Samuel the first husband is listed as son of David Murdoch and Isabella Dickson, funnily enough I cant find a marriage certificate for them. Although I can find one for people with the same name in Dundee, but this is in 1898 and the bride is 25 yrs old and the groom 25, so no way possible its Samuels parents.....

31 Dec 1866 .I can't find a Census of them together to place him. If you have a Ancestry sub ,at least 2 of the trees has the marriage cert downloaded from Scotlandspeople.Father David Murdoch was a master Mason .Wife Isabella was deceased. Yes i think the thrill of the chase gets you
