While we're all taking a renewed interest in Ardrossan Harbour, it seems like a good moment to add these nostalgic pictures that give an impression of it as it was in our younger days, when it was still a hive of industry.
They appeared in the Ardrossan Academy school magazine in 1963, and as with several similar ones I've shown you in the past were the work of senior pupils. This first one was by Brian Jack and shows the cargo vessel " Friendship " unloading at the quay:
