    Porridge

    Postby jane » Sun Feb 27, 2005 1:10 pm

    Recipe for 1

    half mug of porridge oats
    quarter mug milk
    one mug water
    sprinkling of salt

Warm in pan till it bubbles then simmer (stirring most of the time otherwise it will stick) for 4 or 5 minutes or you can use the microwave oven for a few minutes. Then pour into a bowl with a sprinkling of sugar and some milk. :D

You sound surprised about sugar on porridge, I have always had a little white sugar, even when my Mum used to make it for us as children.
My English husband likes it with brown sugar or demerara sugar, piles of it, now that really is too much for me.
