Mother's day is the 2nd Sunday in May here as in many other countries, used to have a hard time getting a card for my mum every year. Now it seems like all occasions are available just about year 'round, barely see 4th of July off before the Hallowe'en and Christmas goods are in the shops!

Just finished a re-read of Sharon Kay Penman's 'Cruel as the Grave' Wasn't sure if I'd read it before but it was long enough ago and she is a good writer so it was just as enjoyable! Now started on 'The Hanging Shed'! Loving it so far!

The White Queen was a good read, but good Lord, the conniving treachery...plus ca change...
have since read and enjoyed 'The Space Between Us', by Thrity Umrigar, an interesting story about life in Bombay, and 'A Patchwork Planet', by Anne Tyler, these two though so different look into interpersonal relationships. Now reading 'Blue Diary' by Alice Hoffman.

I am half way through Monkey Grip by Helen Garner (an Australian Author). This is a story of Nora and her relationship with Javo the junkie. Set in Melbourne and full of the angst and uncertainty of youth (in my view). A good read so far. Published in Penguin (in Australia). [Did I mention that I visited Australia recently? ]
I'm still saving up for a signature.

Reading Ken Follett's 'The Pillars of the Earth', interesting and he is a good writer but I'm having some Marge (Simpson) moments... stereotypical characters...know where this is going...hope I don't end up saying I told me so.
