    John, I did try that. Bonanza was first aired in 1959 and ran until '72 but I couldn't find the release date for the U.K. audiences.

    For the younsters among us, when the programme started, the theme tune would be playing and a map of Virginia appeared on the screen showing the location of the Ponderosa ranch. All of a sudden the centre of the map burst into flames. :)

    As I mentioned, never saw many cars in town in the 50's as I walked down to St. John's, and rarely anything other than black ones. I remember being very surprised seeing my first 'coloured' one, late 50's.

    Hi guys if you want a rush of nostalgia, Bonanza is currently enjoying a re-run on TCM channel on Sky t.v. :D
