Any accordion player will tell you that the best accordions come from Italy - virtually all of the top ranges with hand-made reeds come from around the town of Castelfidardo, on the central east coast (below the knee, just above the calf!)

Jimmy - sounds like you missed a great television series with Phil Cunningham - The World Accordian to Phil - where he sought out the origins of accordians which stem from China and come to us via Italy. Mr Borsini is probably one of the most famous Italian accordian makers. Try and get the series on iPlayer if you can.

    Jimmy: :hi:
Those 2 links are top class.
My favourite 2 instruments are the accordion and the harmonica.
What a delight, when I clicked onto the 2nd link first.
I was searching, a few nights ago, for some Scottish Star Accordion Band tunes and did not come up
with very much. Mind you, I lost interest fairly quickly when I came across something else.
Thank you for sharing those finds.

    Jimmy,
It's not Italian but I've loved this song for as long as I can remember.
It's a very old Irish folk song and I think anybody who is anybody, has sung this song at some point.
BUT, I have NEVER heard it as an instrumental, UNTIL NOW.
    Can't stop listening to it.
