    :hi: OP,
First of all, If I remember correctly, your father was an Essex man & you were born in Ardrossan ?
But, I see that you are now based in Essex. How did that come about, If you don't mind me asking ?
The reason I ask, that's where both my daughters-in-law come from, (Colchester).
Nice to know that I'm not the only one with terrible "sleep" patterns.
Been a nighthawk most of my life and can get by on the minimum of sleep, but don't think I could
stomach 3 hours of ANY politics, be it Westminster or Edinburgh ?

Now, although I respect your 'opinions', especially since they are backed with experience within the
industry, I do have some issues with what you have said. Your honesty, at times, was refreshing.
In your first paragraph, you state that the politicians involved in this programme are all of the
anti-Independence variety. That, immediately, for me, says it all and gives no credibility to anything
that they may say or conclusions that they may arrive at.

You now go on to mention the MP for Govan and his "concern" for Royal Navy shipbuilding at the Govan
yards and, of course, we have the 3 "experts" saying, "in no certain terms" that defence spending by a
government goes to it's own industries etc. Not completely It doesn't. And who knows what the future holds ?
But, they would say that...wouldn't they. Would this same Govan MP, by any chance, be from the same
Labour party who have, for decades, held the threat of job losses over the Govan shipbuilding community,
whilst bit by bit letting our shipbuilding industry deteriorate into almost nothing ?
We, as an Independent country, would have our own military needs to be catered for, which would bring
jobs that no Westminster party could threaten to "take away", giving stability to our families.
Not to mention all sorts of other work & contracts that we may bring in ?
Who knows, we may even end up with contracts from Westminster ?
To simply say that the work would "go south", is scaremongering, BUT you do state that is only your opinion.

You state that the nuclear subs would leave within days, (Oh, if only that were true), and facilities would be
created at various places throughout England and that the nuclear warheads would be stored at Aldermaston,
therefore, creating lots of work for these areas ? I hope that these are still your opinions because If you are
putting this across as "fact", then it flies in the face of EVERY expert who has recently appeared in the
various media. They have ALL said that there are NO facilities in England for nuclear subs AND that it would
take somewhere in the region of 10+ years to build these facilities ? SO, who's telling porkies ?????
There is one more very small point but probably THE most important point, regarding nuclear bombs on
English soil. England's people????? They want these things as much as we Scots do.
So that would be a massive hurdle for ANY Westminster government to negotiate.
My own opinion is, don't be surprised if the Falkland's become the permanent site/base?????

Finally, the whole Independence issue is far more than anything to do with a flag, but since you mentioned
it, come to think about it, that's maybe THE perfect example of why we should go our own way ?
Just look at how that very flag is constructed. What position does Scotland take within that flag ?
We are lurking somewhere in the background and I suppose that is how we have always been treated in a
union that was set up behind the backs of the Scottish people and then we have been constantly told that
we are subsidy junkies, when the opposite has ALWAYS been true.

Independence is inevitable. It's more a question of when, not if.
I only hope that I'm around to see it.

Exactly the sort of contribution I would expect from a unionist Troll, such as yourself.
You can't formulate a grown-up case for your union, so you seek to ruin good discussions between others,
with childish games & remarks. Think you've been reading too much Edward Lear ?

The poll has now ended, and I see little need in keeping this particular topic open. :(
