VERMIN?

help!! for the past 3 years i have been infested by rats out back-door and mice in housing area? i caught a moos the night, it is costing me a blooming fortune in pest control? any ideas to get rid permanently WELCOME!!

unicorn, North Ayrshire have a rat catcher/ pest control officer. You may get a contact number on their web site.

Just thinking, you could get a cat from one of those rescue centres, it might be cheaper, and you are doing a good deed.

listen to your uncle LP and get a cat.

Where we used to live, we had a canal right outside our front door, After quite a few years I got talking to the guy who lived on the other side of the canal. (in a straight line, only 30-40 yards away, but a couple of hundred, walking round the streets - thus very little contact). He was poluted with rats from the canal. In 35 years, we never saw a single one. We had two cats.

PS; cats are great. We has a Siamese; the cat equivalent of a Border Collie.

i have thought of a cat but knowing ma luck the cat would want to play with them? and since my dog died (3years) beardie border collie, i have been plagued, but i suppose if i get no luck from local authorities the day i might just do that. thanks

you will stll have plenty of vermin but they will be dead or almost dead, with a cat standing proudly with a smirk on its face saying "look at meee I am a ruthless killing machine"

with my luck the rat or moos will be looking over cat saying the same hehe!! waiting to hear what environmental health have to say now, they coming out in next few days? meanwhile the traps are a set, i getting a dab hand at this maybe i should say gees a job?

cats want to play with their quarry,Jack Russell terrier may be the answer.
However
You get a Plasticine type substance that ,you put in a corner in a box trap , the vermin eat it go back to nest and die

Rentokil use it, as do others. If you are ever in a factory ,you'll see little boxes at door (size is 6 x 4 x 2) that is what is in them

Hi Stivis,

that poison works. The problem is, the rat eats it, strolls off back to wherever it came from behind a wall, dies and lies there stinking for weeks.

We had that in the office one year; never again.

I neglected that slight downside,But it works ..........So smell or rats....for me it's no choice

A word of warning for anyone handling rat poison. It contains "Warfarin" which is an anticoagulant, this is also in some of the medications for patients with a heart condition, so be careful.
